About Chip and PIN

Your FAB credit card is equipped with an encrypted chip along with enhanced security using Personal Identification Number (PIN) to authenticate you transactions.

How Does It Work:

  • Upon generating your credit card transactions PIN, you can use your FAB credit card for any retail purchases at merchant Chip and PIN terminals worldwide
  • The terminal will prompt you to enter your 4 digit PIN
  • Your transaction will be authorized once the PIN entered is validated
  • If a merchant outlet does not have a chip terminal, you may still use your FAB credit card by signing the receipt

Activation and PIN Reset

To generate or change your transaction PIN:

SMS CACT space < last 4 digits of your card > space < 4 digit PIN number of your choice > from your registered mobile number and send it to 2121. Example: CACT 2015 8021

Important Information

You will now be required to enter a PIN for every retail purchase.

For cash withdrawal transactions at any ATM worldwide, please use the same Personal Identification Number (PIN).

By entering your PIN, you are validating that you are the authorized user of the card.

In order to keep your card safe, please ensure your 4-digit PIN is only known to you and is not shared with the merchant or anyone else.

If you hold multiple and supplementary FAB credit cards, individual cards must be activated and a transactions PIN should be generated separately from the primary cardholders registered mobile number.

  • Is it mandatory to activate the Chip and PIN feature?

    Yes, you will now be required to enter a PIN for every retail purchase.

  • Can I use the same PIN for all FGB supplementary Cards/multiple Cards?

    If you hold multiple and supplementary FGB Credit Cards, transaction PIN should be generated and cards must be activated individually using the primary cardholder's registered mobile number.

  • Can I still use the card for my transactions if the merchant outlet does not have a chip Terminal?

    Yes, if a merchant outlet does not have a Chip terminal, you may still use your FGB Credit Card by signing the receipt.

  • Would the same PIN be applicable for cash withdrawal transactions?

    Yes, for cash withdrawal transactions at any ATM worldwide please use the same Personal Identification Number (PIN).

  • After sending the SMS for activation, how long would it take to activate?

    Your PIN will be generated instantly and you will receive a SMS confirmation once your PIN has been setup. You may now use your Credit Card for retail purchases / cash withdrawals.

  • What happens if I forget my PIN?

    If you don't remember your Personal Identification Number (PIN), you can generate a new PIN number instantly by sending the SMS CACT space < last 4 digits of your card > space < 4 digit PIN number of your choice > from your registered mobile number to 2121.
